Additional advice on the renewal of the authorisation for feed, import and processing of genetically modified oilseed rape MS8, RF3 and MS8xRF3

In 2017, COGEM issued its opinion on the renewal of the authorisation for import and processing of genetically modified (GM) oilseed rape lines MS8, RF3 and MS8xRF3. COGEM concluded that the provided Post Market Environmental Monitoring (PMEM) Plan was inadequate and had remarks about the systemic literature search. EFSA recently published its opinion on the application for renewal of the authorisation of MS8, RF3 and MS8xRF3. The Ministry of IandW asked COGEM whether its comments were sufficiently answered by EFSA.
The applicant redid the systematic literature search. The PMEM plan was, however, not adapted. COGEM therefore remains of the opinion that the PMEM plan needs to be improved before the renewal of the authorisation can be granted.
