Application for renewal of the authorisation for import and processing of genetically modified (GM) maize NK603

COGEM has been asked to advise on a renewal of an application for the import and processing of genetically modified (GM) maize NK603. This GM maize is tolerant to herbicides containing glyphosate due to the insertion of the genes cp4 epsps and cp4 epsps L214P.
Because the import permit will soon expire, the applicant has requested a renewal of the permit and COGEM has been asked to advise on the environmental safety aspects of the renewed application.
