Advice on import and processing of GM maize DP910521

COGEM has been asked to advise on the environmental risks of genetically modified (GM) maize line DP910521. This GM produces the Cry1B.34 protein which confers tolerance to certain susceptible lepidopteran insects, and the phosphinothricin acetyl­transferase (PAT) protein, which confers tolerance to glufosinate-ammonium containing herbicides. GM maize DP910521 also produces the phosphomannose isomerase (PMI) protein, which serves as a selection marker.
