Application for renewal of the authorisation for import and processing of genetically modified (GM) cotton T304-40

COGEM has been asked to advise on a renewal of an application for the import and processing of genetically modified (GM) cotton T304-40. This GM cotton expresses the cry1Ab and bar genes. As a result, T304-40 cotton is resistant to certain lepidopteran pests and tolerant to glufosinate ammonium based herbicides
Because the import permit will soon expire, the applicant has requested a renewal of the permit and COGEM has been asked to advise on the environmental safety aspects of the renewed application.
