COGEM has been asked to advise on a renewal of an application for the import and processing of genetically modified (GM) cotton GHB614xLLCotton25. This GM cotton expresses the 2mepsps and bar genes, making it tolerant to glyphosate and glufosinate ammonium containing herbicides.
Because the import permit will soon expire, the applicant has requested a renewal of the permit and COGEM has been asked to advise on the environmental safety aspects of the renewed application.
