Advice on import and processing of GM maize MON87429

COGEM has been asked to advise on the environmental risks of import and processing of GM maize MON87429.

This event expresses the pat, dmo and ft_t genes , providing tolerance to glufosinate, dicamba, quizalofop and 2,4-D herbicides. MON87429 maize also expresses the CP4 EPSPS protein and utilizes an endogenous maize RNAi regulatory element to reduce CP4 EPSPS expression in pollen, providing a glyphosate-based hybridisation system for hybrid seed production.
