Survey of biological properties that determine the establishment and proliferation potential of cyanobacteria

COGEM wants to prepare itself for future applications that concern the large scale cultivation of GM cyanobacteria using (semi)-contained bioreactors. In some cases, the chance that GM cyanobacteria from such (semi-)contained bioreactors are introduced into the environment is small, but cannot be excluded. To support the environmental risk assessment of a potential introduction of GM cyanobacteria, COGEM wants to gain further insight into the biological properties that determine the establishment and proliferation potential of cyanobacteria in the Netherlands. Therefore, COGEM commissions a research project that summarises the information available.
