Advice on the renewal of import and processing of GM soybean MON87708 x MON89788

COGEM has been asked to advise on the renewal of the market authorisation of GM soybean MON87708 x MON89788. GM soybean MON87708 x MON89788 expresses the dmo gene, derived from MON87708, which confers tolerance to herbicides that contain dicamba. It also expresses the cp4 epsps gene, derived from MON89788, which confer tolerance to glyphosate containing herbicides. Since the authorisation will expire soon, the applicant has requested a renewal of the authorisation. COGEM has been asked to advise on the environmental safety aspects of the renewed application.
