Application for renewal of the authorisation for import and processing of genetically modified (GM) soybean MON87769

COGEM has been asked to advise on a renewal of an application for the import and processing of genetically modified soybean MON87769. This GM soybean expresses the Pj.D6D and Nc.Fad3 genes resulting in the production of stearidonic acid (SDA), an omega3 fatty acid.
Because the import permit will soon expire, the applicant has requested a renewal of the permit and COGEM has been asked to advise on the environmental safety aspects of the renewed application.
